Mikimoto – Employee Sale

Calling all boyfriends, husbands, lovers, sons and daughters! The sample sale of all sample sales is upon us. Valentine’s Day is not too far away.

Mikimoto is collaborating with Soiffer Haskin for their semi-annual sale again. There are some lavish pieces to be found at this sale. A year ago, the employee sales were held at Mikimoto’s corporate office on Fifth Avenue. The shopping experience was always personal and calm. This past summer, Mikimoto collaborated with Soiffer Haskin for the first time for their employee sale. Loyal Mikimoto patrons along with other sample sale bargain hunters were left waiting on the sidewalk for 2+ hours in 90 degree weather to get into the sale. There were showcases and showcases of pearls and other semi-precious jewels – much more than the corporate office ever held - but one could barely squeeze close enough to the counter to see what styles were available. While the new space allowed for more inventory, I enjoyed the luxuries of discretion and time at the Fifth Avenue space.

This is not really a sample sale. It’s an employee sale! All the stuff is new!

Last year I went to the sale and every piece is categorized by color discounts ranging from 40% to 80% off the original price. I believe the discounts will be comparable this time around. Prices are as marked. There are no further discounts as the sale progresses so it pays to get there early. For location and hours:

    Hi Sue,

No, it’s opened to the public. Mikimoto sent invitations out but they were not checking at the door during the last sale. I don’t believe you will have any trouble getting in.
